About Us
Since 1998, THEDA MAR – MARMOSIM group holds exploitation licenses for the 6 most important quarries in the field of natural stone extraction in Romania, providing the necessary raw material in the form of blocks. Thus, the marble quarry in Ruschita, the two limestone quarries in Podeni, the two travertine quarries in Geoagiu and Carpinis, the andesite quarry in Pietroasa and the diabase and gabbro quarry in Zam are the basis for the development of reliable and devoted relationships with all our customers.
Our passion for natural stone and the dedication of our team mean that our offerings are aimed at both the domestic and foreign markets. We offer blocks, slabs and slabs of different sizes – 1 cm, 1.8 cm, 2 cm, 3 cm for massive floors and facades, as well as carved elements – balusters, columns, fireplaces, steps and urban furniture.
The experience gained in 75 years of MARMOSIM is now complemented by the enthusiasm and youth of the THEDA MAR team – a combination of passion and dedication that is evident in every successfully completed project.
MARMOSIM
Tradition in Stone
Our activity started in the 19th century, when we took the first steps in the quarrying of Ruschita marble. Since 1883, generations of miners have dedicated their time to bring to light the special beauty of this natural stone. Then, at the beginning of the 20th century, in parallel with the extraction activity, the processing of marble began. Shortly afterwards, in 1926, the first official document in which our company was mentioned appeared. Later, starting in 1960, the Simeria factory was established. In this way, marble and travertine blocks could be processed to high quality standards.
Until 1998 the factory belonged to the state. Then Titan Mar managed to acquire the majority shareholding. Thus, Marmosim and Titan Mar form a team of professionals, dedicated to high quality services.
In 2006, we implemented Certification Systems in all our operating activities: ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 18001 Health and Safety Management System.
Later, in 2016, we launched Ruschite marble, under the brand MUSE onyx-marble, at international level, and in 2020 we are going to make state-of-the-art investments in the production and processing sections of natural stone.
The year 2021 brought a new achievement: the implementation of the data management and processing system – Charisma.

THEDA MAR – MARMOSIM Group is the market leader in the field of extraction and processing of natural rocks in Romania. The indigenous materials extracted from our quarries deserve to be known by the whole world, and the market in our country needs a more diversified range of shades and finishes. By extracting and processing blocks from our own quarries, Marmosim has become the producer of high quality materials, whose country of origin is Romania itself. The whole process is realized with the help of Theda Mar – importer of various materials in the form of slabs and plywood and also a provider of design and assembly services.
Thus, we offer complete solutions in the field of natural stone. From raw material extraction, processing and marketing, to design, installation and maintenance of natural stone – all this represents us as promoters of high quality services.

Marmosim promotes products made to high standards in all markets that need natural stone and pays special attention to all aspects of quality. Our aim is to meet all the wishes of our customers, offering them products that satisfy even the most demanding requirements in terms of shades and finishes.
Since 2006, we have implemented the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001 Quality Management System in all our activities, with the aim of increasing our customers’ confidence in the quality of our products and services.
Developing a successful relationship with all our customers is the main reason why we want our quality standards to be represented all over the world. Our biggest challenges are related to taking a place in large markets around the world, such as China, Middle Eastern countries and the Far East – partnerships with major construction, distribution and architectural studios being one of the main goals of our team. In addition, the spectacular growth of the domestic market remains a continuous challenge for us.
